The World Peace Council expresses its deep concern and opposition to the recent developments around the “US Peace Deal” over Palestine supervised and imposed by the US administration which comes in clear continuation of the “US plan of the century”. This “new” plan is converting the Palestinian Gaza Strip into a de facto US protectorate leaving the Israeli occupation over Palestine untouched, especially the more than 50% of the territory of the Gaza Strip. The USA has no moral and no legal authority to broker a “Peace Deal” when it is clear that the genocidal war of Israel against the Palestinian people for more than 2 years, was only possible due to the full endorsement and support by the USA and the complicity of the European Union and other allies around the world.
The imperialist controlled international media which are cheering about the supposed end of the war, are not mentioning the 69.000 killed Palestinians, 19.0000 of them children, the complete destruction of the Gaza Strip and its infrastructure, housing, hospitals, schools etc. The unprecedented and inhuman suffering of the people of Palestine, the denial to recognize the inalienable right to self-determination and to a viable and independent State to the Palestinian people goes on while the Israeli occupation army is attacking daily cities and villages also in the occupied West Bank whereas the Israeli army has deployed more than 1.200 iron gates encircling and locking up entrance and exits to and from Palestinian villages.
This US plan is not aiming at Peace, it is placed within the imperialist plans for the “New Middle East”, it is leaving Israel and its government, which is accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity, untouched for its internationally documented Genocide. This US plan does not mention at all the illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, neither does it speak about the release of Palestinian political prisoners from Israeli jails or the right to return for the Palestinians to their homes according to the UN Resolution 194.
These two years of the Israeli war of ethnic cleansing was carried out under the motto: “a people without country and a country without people”. The hypocrisy and cynicism of the USA, the EU, the reactionary Gulf regimes about the “humanitarian crisis” was and is paramount. The so-called right of self-defense of Israel is fake and baseless when observing the massacres of tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians.
The WPC expresses its full-hearted solidarity with the Palestinian people which is for more 77 years under Israeli occupation and supports and demands the establishment and recognition of an independent State of Palestine within the borders of pre-4th June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital. It is the high time to affiliate Palestine as a full member State to the United Nations.
