Israeli occupation forces arrested a top commander of the Islamic Jihad resistance group in the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on Monday.<\/p>\n
Since Friday, Israeli fire has also killed two Palestinian teens and escalated collective punishment of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n
On Monday, resistance factions fired on Israeli forces as they infiltrated the camp area. Youth also threw homemade bombs toward the Israeli invaders, according<\/a> to Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of Islamic Jihad.<\/p>\n Israeli forces invaded Islamic Jihad commander Bassam al-Saadi\u2019s home, arresting him and firing at Palestinian citizens, injuring them.<\/p>\n Israeli forces shot and killed<\/a> 16-year-old Dirar Riyad Luft Al-Haj Saleh with live ammunition during the raid on Monday.<\/p>\n At the time he was shot, Dirar and other camp residents had confronted Israeli invaders positioned some 50 meters away.<\/p>\n An Israeli sniper positioned on top of a residential building fired a live bullet at Dirar from approximately 90 meters away. The boy was hit in the back.<\/p>\n \u201cHe sustained an entry wound to his back right shoulder and the bullet expanded inside his body resulting in severe internal bleeding,\u201d Defense for Children International-Palestine said.<\/p>\n He was pronounced dead minutes later.<\/p>\n \u201cIsraeli soldiers seemingly shoot to kill with complete disregard for international norms, perpetrating war crimes, as the international community stands silent,\u201d Ayed Abu Eqtaish, DCIP\u2019s accountability program director, said.<\/p>\n Saraya al-Quds claimed<\/a> that Dirar was a member of the \u201cnight confusion units\u201d \u2013 demonstrators who use<\/a>makeshift stun grenades to disrupt Israeli forces during raids \u2013 but it is unclear to what extent he was involved with the group.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople familiar with [Dirar] said while he was pictured holding a gun, many boys his age do so, and it does not necessarily imply that he was involved in the shooting or was even a suspect,\u201d Tel Aviv daily Haaretz<\/em> reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n
